The Moxie Festival parade is named in honor of Lisbon native, civic leader, and former parade organizer Gina Mason who died unexpectedly on September 5, 2017. Gina had energy, hometown pride, and a passion for this parade.
One of the largest in the state, the Gina Mason Memorial Moxie Parade will have floats, clowns, many Kora units, music, and more. Allen Ward and Carlton Barnes are coordinating the 2019 parade and rumor has it they are predicting this year’s parade will be at least “two cigars long.”
Two cigars long? That’s Moxie Festival lingo for a wicked long parade. The term is credited to Spencer Stewart and dates back to the 1997 Moxie Festival parade. Stewart claimed the 1997 parade was so long he was able to smoke two stogies before it was done.
2019 parade information is now available. Cigars are optional.
Parade Registration Deadline: June 28, 2019
